With visitor restrictions in place due to COVID-19 we have launched a new Penpal Program to keep our mob connected. It’s a fun way for our residents to stay in touch with the community and a chance for us all to make new friends.
Get your creativity flowing during isolation with letters or artwork and you have the option post in the mail, send emails or even Skype messages to our Jimbelunga residents. To register email sandra.eastwood@atsichsbrisbane.org.au or phone 3807 0655.

We were delighted to recently host a visit from his Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (retd) Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia and her Excellency Mrs Hurley to officially open the Uncle Steve and Aunty Pamela Mam Wing at Jimbelunga in their honour. It was a very special day and we’d like to thank everyone involved who helped make the day memorable.
Many thanks to singer Bill Knox and the Wagga TSI Dance Company for their fantastic performances during the event and no Jimbelunga event is complete without a spread from our fabulous head chef Kevin. Special thanks also go to Kevin and his team.

Well done to our Jimbelunga residents who took out a string of awards at the Beenleigh Show on the weekend.
Competing in a range of sections including vegetables, flowers and craft, they took out a First and two Second places for their flowers and a Second place in the vegetable section.
Several residents also won ‘First’ place awards in the craft section.
A great day was had by all with morning tea, a train ride and we even had a go on the clowns in sideshow alley.

A bit of rain didn’t stop our NAIDOC celebrations at Jimbelunga Nursing Centre. Lucky we had a plan B. Residents, families and staff enjoyed a great day and special thanks to radio 98.9fm for coming along. The outside broadcast was a bit hit as well as the great tunes they pumped out on the day. Former ATSICHS director John Lesley (pictured above) was spotted in the crowd as he checked out his grandchildren who performed on the day. It was great to see our nursing staff getting into the NAIDOC spirit with face painting.
Thanks to 98.9fm For the Best Country for coming along and pumping out some great tunes.
Karen, Uncle Pete and Boe were there broadcasting live from 10am until 2pm. Did you hear the shout outs?
We went along to catch up on all the action with 989.9FM Crew as they celebrated NAIDOC week at Jimbelunga. Have a listen to what they said.
