What do you love about your role?
I have a background in fine dining chef where I would use lots of creativity and amazing presentations of food. I believe if we give this type of service to our elders it will encourage them to eat healthy meals and stay healthy.
Who inspires you?
Our elders. Looking after our elderly gives me inner peace and brings confidence that in life I am contributing my time for our community.
I have worked as a fine dining chef at Westpac bank head office, Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney Cricket Ground and Taronga Zoo in the corporate fine dining function area. In the past four years I have been working in aged care.
Share a moment when you made a difference to a resident’s day?
I like to stay connected to all our residents. I enjoy making birthdays special. Apart from baking a cake for residents I enjoy getting other residents involved with decorating the cake as this creates a family atmosphere.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Long drives, cricket and music.
